Spiral wound membranes of the 1,8 "x12" size, are tangential filters (reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration and microfiltration) that can be used on the MEMBRATEST system or on similar commercially available equipment.
They are composed of semipermeable polymer membrane sheets glued to supports and spirally wrapped around a central tube. The flow pumped from the head of the membrane, passes through the coils and is filtered into the central tube. The concentrate comes out of the head coils.
These elements have a sanitary construction and are available with different degrees of filtration (or MWCO molecular cuts), different materials and particular surface treatments to make them resistant to particular conditions of use (resistant to acids or extreme pH, resistant to high temperatures, ...)
